Alfred Spinelli

I recently had an opportunity to speak with one of New York’s hunky firemen Alfred Spinelli.

By: Joshua Conner

Alfred Spinelli is a firefighter at the New York City Fire Department (FDNY), U.S. Navy Veteran and published cover model, living in Staten Island, New York. Spinelli inspires me professionally and personally. Professionally, I am inspired by how Spinelli served our country in the Navy and continues to serve as a firefighter. Personally, I am inspired by how Spinelli puts family first, his style, physique, and his delicious chef-inspired and didactic Instagram posts. Spinelli is as charming as his New York Commish accent.

Who would play Spinelli in a movie?

“An actor, that I actually paid attention to, and the funny thing is, I kind of like him, I like the show Chicago Fire, is Kelly Severide, Taylor Kinney. Yeah, apparently, being a fireman, and him being a fireman on the show, a couple of people have referenced the two of us together. So, I watched a couple of his movies, and I watched the show, and I like him. He seems like a pretty stand up guy, which is basically, what I try to be,” said Spinelli.

Spinelli’s most memorable year was 2001. This was the year his daughter was born, and 9/11 was his first day on the job as a firefighter.

“My most memorable year, I’m going to have to say 2001, hahaha. So, basically, January 2001, my daughter was born, and July of 2001, I became a New York City firefighter, so FDNY. I graduated from the academy on September 8, 2001, and 9/11 was my first day on the job. If there was any one year, that really stands out, it’s definitely 2001,” said Spinelli.

If Spinelli’s mantra was a hashtag, what would it be?

“If my mantra was a hashtag, again 9 out of 10 times, when I post something, one of the hashtags, is generally, something about family. Whether it’s #familyfirst or #familyalways. Just for that reason, everything that I have ever done is based on what is important to me. It’s definitely family first,” said Spinelli.

What are Spinelli’s underwear preferences?

“Alright, I don’t know too many men who wear boxers anymore. The boxer brief has been a staple for the last 10-12 years though. 9 out of 10 times, I’m buying Hanes, with no tags, with the little writing on front. I’ve actually been online, and I’ve ordered a few, from just some random companies. Some of these are just, so damn comfortable, it’s not even funny. Overall, I’m a Hanes kind of guy,” said Spinelli.

If Spinelli could leave his kids one quality, it would be loyalty.

“One quality, it would be loyalty. They got to be loyal to each other, and they got to be loyal to the family. I mean, it goes hand and hand with honesty, being truthful and in general, you have to be straightforward. No lies, no beating around anything, you just have to tell it like it is,” said Spinelli.

Spinelli enjoys everything about being a fireman, and ultimately it’s a calling.

“Everything, it’s a calling, it’s something that some guys choose, some guys always wanted to be, and there are very few that actually can be. To me, FDNY, or Chicago Fire, that’s just, at least to me, it’s earned, no one can give it to you. When you earn it, it’s the best feeling in the world,” said Spinelli.

If Spinelli could have a conversation with anyone died or alive, it would be with his mother, who passed 21 years ago.

“I told you, I’m a family man, so if I could go back, and have a conversation with anyone it would be mom. The reason why is because it has been 21 years. There is so much to talk about, and so much, that’s she missed out on,” said Spinelli.

What would be Spinelli’s last meal?

“My last meal, if I was cooking it. If I was going to cook my last meal, wow, man, I love everything that I cook. You know, I would probably do the tuna steaks, with the white rice and cilantro, with mango pineapple salsa. That’s always been one of my favorites. I think I like that one, now I’m hungry, ” said Spinelli.

Luis Montoya

I recently had an opportunity to speak with blessed & charismatic model and trainer Luis Montoya.

By: Joshua Conner

Luis Montoya is a CEO/Celebrity Trainer, keynote speaker, online health/nutrition coach and one percent nutrition athlete, based in California. Montoya inspires me professionally and personally. Professionally, I am inspired by how Montoya has created a successful business and brand. Personally, I am inspired by Montoya’s faith, physique, style, and didactic Instagram posts.

What would be the title of Montoya’s life story and who would play him in a movie?

“Let’s see the title of the movie would probably be, the art of never giving up. I think Jim Carrey, I love Jim Carrey, I think he is a very funny guy, like myself. So, I think he would do an amazing job. When it comes to being serious, he can be very serious and so am I,” said Montoya.

What was Montoya’s most memorable year?

“My most memorable year would probably be 2016 because I think this was the year that everything started to make sense for me. I had a breakthrough in the fitness industry. I did my very first professional photo shoot with Noel Daganta, and it was just mind-blowing. I think that moment and that year, so many things just started to make sense. That was the first year that I started believing in myself, as much as people believed in me, and it just took me to a whole new level,” said Montoya.

Montoya is so stylish, how does he pick out his wardrobe?

“Let’s see, I like to keep a modern twist in my style. So, I like the gentleman look, but when it comes to casual wear, I try to keep it modern and fun. I do shop at stores like H & M, and Express. What I try to do is, always go for a fit that I see fits my physique. I always try to pick out items, based on whatever season is in. So, I do like dark colors, but I think it’s a time and a place for everything. So, if I’m going out on a date or something like that, I always wear black. I think it’s very seductive and classy. If I’m going out with my friends, like going out to the park, or concert or something like that, I really try to wear more vibrant colors like olive green or maroon, colors that never go out of style,” said Montoya.

If Montoya’s mantra was a hashtag, it would be, #faith.

“Faith is everything for me,” said Montoya.

Montoya would describe his brand as, “faith, health and wealth”.

What is Montoya’s favorite inspirational quote?

“You know what, I actually have a tattoo on my arm. This is from the very famous Greg Plitt. Greg Plitt played a very big role in my transformation. I considered him an angel, that God sent to me, to pick me up from the worst time that I had. I was at my worst, and I was at the border of committing suicide, and life was just making no sense. I discovered Greg Plitt, who ended up passing away, but he was a famous fitness cover model. There was this quote that always stuck with me, and I have it on my arm and it says, “Second by second, you lose the opportunity to become who you really want to be, take charge of your life,” said Greg Plitt.
That was such a powerful quote, that I ended up getting it on my arm, as a tribute to him, with a clock ticking. So every time I look at, it reminds me that every second counts. Every second is an opportunity to become the person, that I want to become. I gotta take chances in my life, and it’s up to me to create that,” said Montoya.

If Montoya could do any workout with Greg Plitt, it would be a full body workout.

“Oh, my God, you know what, I wanna say a shoulder workout, but I’m going to go ahead and say a full body workout. Full body workout, because I have seen his YouTube videos, where he does his full body workout outdoors. It’s just incredible to see Greg Plitt, put his body through so much,  I think it would be an amazing workout to be able to experience that with him,” said Montoya.

If Montoya could have a conversation with anyone died or alive, who would it be and what would they talk about?

“I would have to go with Greg Plitt one more time. There are so many people that I look up to, but it would be Greg Plitt because I think he has had such a big impact on my life. The conversation would probably be like, he lived his life to the fullest, and I would probably ask him if he could change anything? He probably wouldn’t change anything, if I knew him well, I would know that. I would probably ask him if there was anything else that he would have wanted to do, or did he have any regrets, or if he could do it all over again, would he want a second chance to explore,” said Montoya.
