I recently had an opportunity to speak with the handsome model and actor Élan Sorrell.
By: Joshua Conner
Élan Sorrell is a model, actor, and instructor at Flywheel Sports based in Los Angeles, California. Sorrell inspires me personally and professionally. Professionally, I am inspired by how Sorrell has successfully diversified his brand. Personally, I am inspired by Sorrell’s style, physique, and passion for his craft.
What would be the title of Sorrell’s life story and who would play him in a movie?
“Well, I’m an actor, so honestly I like nobody but myself to play me. The title of my story would be just a kid on his quest for greatness,” said Sorrell.
Sorrell’s most memorable year was 2013.
“Memorable year, probably 2013. I would say that’s the year, I decided to stop pursuing things that other people wanted me to do, and start pursuing what I was passionate about,” said Sorrell.
Sorell enjoys the freedom that comes from being an actor.
“What I like most, the freedom. The freedom to create, and be whatever I want to be depending on the character that I am playing. To bring my own emotions, ideas, and past experiences into that role. To be able to bring truth to something that is fiction,” said Sorrell.
Sorrell is also a flywheel sports instructor.
“My job is essentially to take a client and give them an opportunity to participate in an energized somewhat personal training structured class. So, I teach clients, high-intensity interval training, so the basis of that is strength, endurance, power, balance, stability and just overall core endurance,” said Sorrell.
“I’ve been rolling with Jockey for quite some time, I guess boxer briefs,” said Sorrell on his underwear preference.
One of Sorrell’s most favorite modeling gigs was doing an interactive experience for San Diego Comic Con, WestWorld Live Experience back in 2017.
If Sorrell could host a Ted Talk on any topic, it would be on fear.
“It would be on fear, and how clipping it can be and motivating it can be. Fear is something that everybody no matter what your background or upbringing encounters at some point of their life,” said Sorrell.
If Sorell could have a conversation with anyone died or alive, it would be Albert Einstein.
“Probably, Albert Einstein. I am really curious to know whether he realized the impact of his theories, philosophies and just his general intelligence when he was still alive. Everybody considers him a genius, one of the greatest minds of any generation, and I still wonder how it was to be in that position and still create so much that he did on a daily basis.
